A reader in Argentina reported receiving an account-verification email in a Hotmail inbox on 3 May 2021. It presented itself as a Microsoft account notice.
A threat to block sign-in within 24 hours
In translation, the message said the recipient needed to verify the account to continue using the service. It threatened to block sign-in temporarily if verification was not completed within 24 hours. The recipient's address was masked in the original transcription.
According to the original report, the message included a link requesting a Hotmail username and password. The report describes this as a credential-stealing attempt. The link has not been opened or tested for this translation.
Addresses recorded in the report
The article associates the email with san_coro82@hotmail.com and says that es.support@microsoft.com.es appeared among the destination details to make it look official. An address in a recipient field does not demonstrate that Microsoft sent a message.
The reader reportedly did not follow the request. A displayed address can be spoofed; this archive does not identify the person who sent the email or establish that any named mailbox was compromised.
Check the account independently

A separate reader report describes a similar message received on 6 May 2021. The resemblance does not prove that both were sent by the same person.
