ResolutionFix: small text in Windows apps

Compatibility and required permissions

• Operating system: Windows 7 or later, as confirmed by the owner of Todo sobre informática.
• Permissions: the tool must be run as an administrator.

Compatibility with this tool does not mean an older Windows version is still supported. Windows 7 support has ended; keep this in mind when choosing the system on which to use it.

Prepare and select the correct application

1. Download ResolutionFix using one of the links on this page. If you choose the ZIP file, extract it before opening the program.
2. Save your work and close the application whose text you want to check.
3. Right-click ResolutionFix.exe and choose Run as administrator. Approve the request only if you are authorised to administer that computer.
4. In ResolutionFix's white field, select the .exe file of the program displaying small text, not the ResolutionFix executable.
5. Press APLICAR (Apply). Then open the selected application and check how its text and controls appear.

Example and limitations

If small text appears in a particular program, select that program's executable. Do not select a document, an image or a different file merely because it is in the same folder.

The documented purpose is to improve text display in the selected application. This is not a promise that every program will look the same: check the result in the windows and features you actually use.

What to check if the result is not what you expected

• Verify that you selected the correct executable.
• Check that you ran ResolutionFix as an administrator.
• Note whether the issue affects one application or other applications too. This helps you describe the problem when asking for assistance.

If you need help, contact us with your Windows version, the affected application and what changed after pressing APLICAR. Hide personal information in any screenshot you send. On an organisation's computer, consult its administrator before changing settings.
