Add a white background to product photos with Blend or Photoroom

A white background can make product photographs look consistent and help the item stand out. In the original article, the author describes using Blend and Photoroom for photos intended for Mercado Libre and other platforms.

This is a translation of that experience, not a new test of either app. Controls, free features, export limits and subscription conditions can change. The Spanish labels below help you follow the original workflow; check the version installed on your device.

Blend: choose a photo and change its background

1. Find the official app in the Play Store. Before granting access, review which photos and permissions the app needs.
2. Open the app and select Crear diseño (Create design), as described in the original guide.
3. Choose the photograph to edit, then select a white background. The original experience also mentions other background choices.
4. Check the cutout around the product and use the share/export control, then choose the save option.

The author reported a standard free export of 1080 × 1080 pixels and a paid HD export of 2160 × 2160 pixels. These are historical observations, not confirmed limits for today's plans. Consult Blend's background-removal page and the export options in your account before relying on a particular size.

The Spanish text suggests cropping away a watermark. Do not assume that this is permitted by the applicable terms: use an export option authorised for your intended use and retain any required branding or attribution.

Photoroom: select, edit and export

1. Find the official Photoroom app in the Play Store and review the requested photo access.
2. Choose Selecciona una foto (Select a photo). In the original workflow, the app removes the background automatically.
3. Choose white, black, transparent or another available background. The original article distinguishes free options from those requiring a Pro plan.
4. Inspect the result, then use Exportación (Export) to save it to your gallery or share it.

Do not infer Photoroom's limits from the Blend figures above. Photoroom documents different export resolutions by platform and plan. Check the current plan and export conditions before preparing a large set of images.

Before publishing the finished photo

Keep the original file so you can redo the edit. Check that the background removal has not cut away edges, cables or transparent parts of the product. A neat background should improve presentation without hiding damage or making the item misleading. Finally, compare the exported size and format with the requirements of the platform where you will upload it.
