On 3 November 2022, a reader in Argentina contacted the site about an email received in a personal account. It claimed to concern INTERPOL and demanded a response within 48 hours.

What the message claimed
The subject was “protección*INTERPOL”. The sender label was “ADJOINT”, with proteccióndemenores8@gmail.com displayed in the original transcription. The reply contact was written without the accent as protecciondemenores8@gmail.com. This discrepancy is preserved rather than silently corrected.
The text referred to a file requiring a rapid response, a police superintendent and a supposed direct contact named Jean-Philippe Lecouffe. It listed a PDF named CYBERCRIME….POLICE NACIONAL..pdf and told the recipient to respond within 48 hours. These are claims made by the message, not instructions from this site.
Why the message should not be trusted
INTERPOL's own warning about scams using its name states that it does not contact members of the public directly or demand money or bank details. Official-looking names and documents do not authenticate a message.
The original article also points to spelling, layout and mixed-language problems. These can be warning signs, but they do not establish a person's nationality or native language. A well-written message would not become trustworthy just by avoiding those errors.
What to do with a similar email
Do not reply or open its links or attachments. Use the reporting options in your email service and consult the official INTERPOL warning above through an independent route. After any reporting or evidence-preservation steps you need, remove the message from your inbox.
